The ‘Web in a Box’ offers brokers their own transactional website for a monthly fee of £200. The site can give brokers a corporate identity, contact details, products and key personnel. In addition advisers can list testimonials and update the site with information as often as they want.
Mark Curran, senior manager e-commerce at Intelligent Finance, said: "The challenge for advisers is that clients are changing. They are better informed, more demanding, less loyal and have less time. What is more, they are changing the way they want to do business – at a time and in a way that is convenient for them. They may want guidance but not necessarily face-to-face every time."
"Used effectively, the internet represents an opportunity where advisers can maintain relationships with their clients while opening up new income streams. However, developing a website can cost thousands of pounds so the cost involved has deterred many from exploring this opportunity.
"We are confident that these websites will generate significant income for advisers. The monthly fee of only £200 could be covered if only one mortgage were sold – and we would expect advisers would get much more business than that."
