Halifax unveils broker workshops

Designed to make it easier for brokers to do business, the lender claims the workshops have already been very successful on a regional level. So far, 800 brokers have attended the courses, each of whom received a 'Continual Professional Development' certificate for product and policy criteria training.

The workshops, pioneered by Paulette Tajah-Bell and her team, have already been piloted in London, the Midlands and Scotland. Brokers have reported praised the workshops, confirming that it gave them a better understanding of the products available, the confidence to provide the best advice, and a chance to voice their views.

Paul Chapman, head of sales at Halifax Intermediaries, said: "Intermediaries are a key part of our business. These workshops are designed to make it easier for brokers to do business. Along with useful hints and sales tips, they also provide a forum through which to share best practice. We've received some great feedback from brokers who have attended the workshops so far and look forward to a successful national roll out."

Anyone who advises or provides administration support on mortgages is welcome to attend the workshops. To secure your place on a Halifax Intermediaries "Making it Easier" workshop simply email your local BDM.

Halifax spoke to Jonathan Burridge of Quantum Mortgage Brokers, who said of the events: "It's a great way to help induct new advisers in our businesses or those new to the industry. Excellent workshop I would recommend it to others."
