Halifax Intermediaries launches Loyalty Club mortgages for brokers

Range covers purchases only and sits alongside the existing Loyalty Premier products

Halifax Intermediaries launches Loyalty Club mortgages for brokers

Halifax Intermediaries has launched a range of discounted Loyalty Club mortgages, giving brokers more choice for eligible Club Lloyds customers buying a home. The products are available from 22 October for first-time buyer and home mover purchase applications.

The lender said brokers can now access the same Club Lloyds eligibility and discount as customers who apply directly. That gives a consistent proposition whichever route a customer takes to arrange their mortgage.

Who qualifies

At least one applicant must hold a qualifying Club Lloyds current account with Lloyds Bank. Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Silver and Club Lloyds Platinum accounts all qualify, with no minimum income requirement. Customers without an eligible account can open or upgrade to one before choosing a Loyalty Club product. Terms, conditions and lending criteria apply.

Purchases only

Loyalty Club products are available on purchase applications only. That includes New Build Extended and Affordable Housing products. They are not available for remortgages, further advances or product transfers.

“Brokers play a significant role in helping customers navigate the mortgage market and find a mortgage that meets their circumstances. We want to give them more choice when they are helping customers buying a home,” Leigh Church, acting head of Halifax Intermediaries, said.

“By making our new Loyalty Club mortgage products available through Halifax Intermediaries, eligible Club Lloyds customers can access the discount whether they choose to arrange their mortgage through a broker or come to us directly.

“It’s another step in how we’re developing our intermediary proposition and fulfilling our commitment to the broker market as we move towards the launch of Lloyds Intermediaries in 2027.”

How it sits alongside Loyalty Premier

The new range sits alongside the existing Loyalty Premier mortgages, which are for customers with a qualifying Lloyds Premier current account. Eligibility is different. Premier covers purchases, remortgages, product transfers and further advances.

For purchase and remortgage applications, at least one applicant must have an income of at least £100,000. For employed applicants, that is basic salary plus bonus, overtime and commission. For self-employed applicants, it is the latest year’s income. There is no minimum income for Premier product transfers or further advances.

Loyalty Premier is not available across Green Home A/B EPC Cashback, New Build Extended or Affordable Housing products.

Spotting the products

Loyalty Club products carry a “Club” icon in Halifax Intermediaries’ Product Search tool and Products Guide. Loyalty Premier products carry a “Premier” icon. Both ranges are also available through brokers’ usual sourcing platforms.

Where joint applicants qualify for both Club and Premier accounts, Premier products will initially be displayed because they offer the larger discount. Halifax said brokers may still want to consider Club products for those cases.

Part of a wider shift

The launch follows Lloyds Banking Group’s announcement that Halifax Intermediaries will become Lloyds Intermediaries in 2027. Halifax has said brokers will keep the same systems, login details and processes. From 7 July, brokers gained access to the Lloyds Premier current account mortgage discount on Halifax mortgages.

What it means for brokers

Checking which current account a client holds could now be part of the first conversation on a purchase. The Club range has no income threshold, unlike the £100,000 Premier test, so it may reach a wider pool of first-time buyers and movers. It does not help remortgage or product transfer cases, so those clients will need other routes.
