Halifax asks for broker views

The poll, which launched earlier this year on the Halifax Intermediaries website, is designed to give brokers a quick and easy channel through which to share their views.

This month's question asks for feedback on the PDA version of the Halifax Intermediaries website, as launched last month. Previous questions include "Has the launch of Halifax Product Transfers and Further Advance changed the way you do business?", to which a resounding 62 per cent responded with a 'yes definitely'.

Jack Saxton, managing director of Halifax Intermediaries, said: "Our sole aim for 2007 is to make it easier for intermediaries to do business with us. The poll is designed to help us find out what brokers really want."

Halifax Intermediaries plans to extend the facilities of the poll to include an open-ended section where intermediaries can post their opinions 'free style'. Other recent developments to the website include a 'product highlights' section designed to aid navigation. In February, the products section received over 4,500 hits and early indications are that it has been well-received by intermediaries.

Meanwhile, Halifax is to offer an enhanced procuration fee to Mortgage Intelligence members.

All Elan and 7 star members will now receive a 0.34 per cent procuration fee and Spirit members will receive 0.345 per cent, with further enhanced fees for flexible products. In addition, Mortgage Intelligence has agreed a minimum fee of £175 for all members on all products to help members that are situated in areas where property prices are lower.

Sally Laker, managing director at Mortgage Intelligence, commented: “Halifax is a very popular lender with our members because of their attractive products and their strong high street brand, which is well known to their clients. This combined with a good procuration fee is a win-win situation for members and their clients.”
