GMAC POS system reaches Advantage

The state of the art underwriting system POS (Point of Sale) now installed at their Head Office in the North West will assist to speed up the underwriting decision process.

Brokers entering the ‘Advantage Hub’ not only reap the same benefits of less underwriting and a quicker decision but still experience the unique personalised service Advantage offers to brokers, plus an opportunity to access six major non-conforming lenders leaving clients with only ONE credit file search footprint.

Peter Bass (Head of Sales) added: “We are delighted to offer brokers access to POS to complement our already unique branded offering. Brokers are switching on fast to the benefits of dealing with a Branded Mortgage Arranger and whilst the installation of POS strengthens are already unique non-conforming solution, it in no way removes our underwriters from the picture.

In terms of processing prime, near prime and even light adverse business, electronic decision making systems will become more common, as more lenders will make underwriting decisions based on credit scoring and adopt simplified processing practices as a result. These systems will enable our experienced underwriters to devote their time to resolving the more complex underwriting issues surrounding medium and heavy adverse enquiries and looking more closely at cases that are electronically rejected. This way the broker gets the best of both worlds: electronic and manual underwriting of several product ranges under one roof, with all the control and flexibility associated with a lender, with the deal making skills of a packager thrown in for good measure. If I was a broker this is the model I would want.”
