GHL - making all the right moves

The start of 2007 has marked many changes for GHL Group, with exclusive deals and key appointments. Mortgageintroducer.com gets the inside story…

GHL’s intentions for 2007 are simple; to enhance on communication levels and distribution, focusing on bringing new exclusive products and develop customer care.

New products and key appointments to the team will aid GHL Group’s mission throughout this year.

The latest exclusive to hit the headlines from GHL is their deal with Platform to offer a non-conforming, 2-year tracker at 5.64 per cent.

According to John Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at GHL, due to the recent unexpected rise in interest rates, most lenders have withdrawn their fixed rate products from the market and are now re-pricing.

This market leading deal between GHL and Platform also offers free surveys and is available up to 95 per cent Loan-to-value (LTV).

Smith commented: “We have an exclusive deal with Platform from 5th February, which marks the start of bringing more exclusives out for our members and Directly Authorised Brokers (DABs)”

New Year…new appointments

The New Year has brought with it a fully replenished team at GHL with the final two appointments having been made towards the end of January.

Smith said: “We made some very important key appointments towards the end of last year to make sure that we cannot only develop on the technology side, but also get involved on the customer care side.”

“We pushed hard on case tracking and developing technology and e-commerce throughout 2006, and again it will continue through 2007, but what we also want is the accountability and customer focus.”

Naz Licence has been appointed as the group’s head of secured loans sales following an increase of business generated by the second charge arm of GHL’s online proposition.

Naz License - GHL Group's new head of secured loans sales

Licence will be responsible for increasing the volume of case completions and developing the educational aspect of secured loan lending to GHL’s appointed representative and directly authorised distribution. The expansion of the group’s second charge department will also see additions of specialist office staff and business development managers with dedicated regions across the country.

Licence was formerly of secured loans packager, Access Broker Services, where she was responsible for introducing over 200 new brokers to the benefits of second charge loans in just under nine months. Prior to her role at Access, Licence worked as a business development manager for Rooftop Mortgages and Advantage Innovative Lending.

Smith said: “The option of a secured loan is a genuine alternative to a re-mortgage in today's regulated mortgage market as it offers clients a realistic solution. Business in this area has been increasing at a rapid pace and Naz has been appointed to manage and develop our second charge facility. She has a proven sales record and has joined us with the kind of forward thinking approach that GHL and our distribution can only benefit from.”

GHL has underlined its intentions to continue with its policy of enhancing processes and customer service by appointing a new operations director to its five-strong board of directors.

Sandi Moon will ensure the company continues to examine opportunities and enhance processes currently adopted in its branded, packaging and sales support departments.

GHL invested a significant amount of time during 2006 to improve its overall customer service offering with the use of technology. Moon is keen to further develop this throughout 2007 and build on the reputation of delivering a first class service.

Sandi Moon

Moon’s arrival has pleased Smith, who believes the ideal appointment has been made to GHL.

He said: “We have taken considerable time in looking for the right operations director and interviewed varying individuals. Sandi, however, fit the bill perfectly. She is a firm believer in people, job satisfaction and customer service. Last year we invested a lot of time improving processes and customer service and Sandi can now use the foundation we laid to make an even bigger difference in a forward direction for GHL.”

“We’ve got a full compliment. We are certainly well placed now.”
