GHL announces protection partnership

This latest alliance sees Torquil Clark offer a life insurance referral scheme via the GHL Group website to the network’s appointed representatives (ARs) and satellite packagers, ahead of offering the service to GHL’s directly authorised brokers (DAs).

Founded in 1999, Torquil Clark have established themselves as one of the largest life insurance brokers in the UK. Utilising a panel of providers including Bright Grey, Legal & General and Norwich Union, they can offer clients advice and arrange policies for all types of protection insurance including, term assurance, pension term assurance, critical illness cover, income protection, ASU/MPPI and home & contents insurance.

Brokers face the prospect of being non-compliant if they sell mortgage loans without advising clients to consider their life insurance needs. The relationship between Torquil Clark and GHL Group aims to underline this message, highlighting the importance of this area of compliance, but also ensuring brokers have a choice in how they deal with their life business, either selling it directly or referring.

The process of referring clients is accessed via the life insurance section of the GHL website. From here the broker can submit their client’s personal information along with their requirements to Torquil Clark. On receipt a dedicated admin team will make contact with the client over the telephone, provide advice and illustrations as required and follow these up via email and post. When the client is ready to proceed they will complete the application over the telephone and guide them through the whole process to ensure the plan goes on risk as quickly and easily as possible.
