GE Home Lending strengthens marketing team

Emma Wright takes on the new role of head of marketing – second mortgages, and Mazhar Shabeeh is the new head of marketing – home improvement & holiday ownership lending.

Emma Wright originally joined First National in 2000 as marketing manager for unsecured lending within the consumer finance division, and in 2002 was promoted to the role of brand and communications manager in the consumer, retail and motor finance divisions. After taking a sabbatical to travel around the world, Emma rejoined the Company as a project manager responsible for implementing regulatory changes (FSA and Consumer Credit Act) in GE Home Lending’s marketing programmes.

Emma said: “I am delighted with my new appointment and by the fact I’ll be working with a talented team of marketing professionals. We’ll be taking a fresh look at how we design and market our products to ensure they offer the features, value and accessibility our brokers and customers want. In an increasingly competitive market it’s vital we remain right at the front of our game, and it’s my task to help ensure this is the case.”

Mazhar Shabeeh has been with GE since 1995. He began his career with the company working within the sales & marketing and e-commerce teams at two of GE’s insurance businesses. He joined the igroup brand business as head of mortgage insurance in 2003, and now takes on responsibility for marketing communications for GE Home Lending’s growing unsecured lending business.

Mazhar said: “I’m really looking forward to being a part of the Home Lending marketing team. It’s our job to deliver dedicated and focused support to the home improvement and holiday ownership parts of the business to ensure its continued growth.”

David Harvey, director of marketing, said; “Emma and Maz bring additional expertise and product knowledge to an already accomplished team. I have no doubt both of these experienced professionals will do an excellent job in helping us meet and exceed our customers’ needs over the coming months.”
