GE Home Lending appoints legal counsel

David joins from GE Consumer Finance – Europe where he was legal counsel for regulatory affairs. Prior to that, he worked for leading international law firm Slaughter & May, advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and banking law and, ultimately, specialising in the regulated financial services sector.

David is no stranger to GE Home Lending having worked closely with the team throughout 2004 in the run-up to FSA regulation. In his new role, he reports directly to Colin Shave, chief executive officer, and becomes a member of the senior management team.

David said: “I’m delighted to be joining GE Home Lending at this very exciting and challenging time. Having helped the business to address the challenges posed by new regulation over the last 12 months, I'm looking forward to ensuring it functions optimally in the new regulatory environment, and to tackling the wider challenges that come with the role of legal counsel."

Colin Shave said: “David is a great addition to the team and we’re delighted to have him on board. His reputation is already well founded here, and his great work in the regulatory arena was recognised by GE last year when he received an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ from our European CEO.”
