GE Home Lending announces senior sales appointments

Duncan Berry is to take on the role of head of 1st mortgages, and Daniel Spragg and Colin Bailey have joined as business development managers.

Duncan Berry joins GE Home Lending on 28 February 2005. In his new position, he will have responsibility for 1st mortgage intermediary sales across both the igroup and First National brands. He becomes part of the senior management team reporting to Sean Webb, chief commercial officer, GE Home Lending.

Duncan originally joined GE in 1996, and has served in senior management positions in Europe and the United States. Most recently, he has been with GE Consumer Finance in France where he has gained wide experience in mortgage sales and developing sales force effectiveness. Duncan is married and has a young son. He and his family will be relocating to the London area. Duncan said, "igroup and First National each have a great track record, and I'm looking forward to reinforcing our intermediary relationships by working in partnership to enhance products and servicing."

Daniel Spragg and Colin Bailey join the 1st mortgage sales team as business development managers covering designated regions for the igroup brand. They report to Jon Sturgess, regional general manager. In their roles, they are responsible for developing and growing intermediary relationships through effective communication and hands-on support.

Having worked in financial services for nearly a decade, Daniel Spragg brings with him a wide breadth of experience. Recent appointments include investment manager with the Principality Building Society and IFA for Bradford & Bingley advising on all types of mortgage products. He said, "I'm aiming to work very closely with our brokers to deliver a superior level of service. I'm confident that my prior industry experience will help us build on our huge success by ensuring our targets are met and exceeded."

Colin Bailey was previously a partner with a mortgage packager based in the south east of England. He too has worked in the mortgage industry for a number of years, gaining great experience and many contacts along the way. He commented, "I'm delighted to be on board

and have the opportunity to work with such an energetic and successful team. I'm looking forward to the challenge of providing our brokers and their customers with continuously improved support, products and services."
