The forums, held in association with The Mortgage Times Group, and sponsored by db mortgages comes at a time when the market is experiencing market turbulence and provides the opportunity for a frank discussion about the future of the market.
The forums, taking place in Manchester and London, after a successful event in Cardiff, will feature a speech by Richard Lawes from the FSA, who will speak for 20 minutes on the agreed topic of regulatory issues in the non-conforming arena, particularly looking at Financial Promotions. Lawes will also be on hand to answer any questions from brokers as part of the panel.
Andy Pratt, chief executive officer at Alexander Hall, said: “It is always useful if you or your business have a concern that can ask the FSA directly, as there is different understanding of the rules of Financial Promotions. It’s important that brokers can ask questions and understand the regulations, but I’m not sure they will understand fully unless it is mandated, which may be the best way – although this could be Big Brother-esque.”
