FSA appointments two senior advisors

Graeme joins the FSA part time. Most recently he was executive director at Abbey National plc, from 2005-2007. Prior to that he spent 27 years at RBS Group starting in the branch network at Royal Bank of Scotland before moving on to become managing director at Natwest Retail Banking.

Graeme will take on the role of providing advice to the FSA on UK retail banking issues from Naguib Kheraj, who steps down from his advisory role at the FSA at the end of September, following his appointment to a full-time role at JP Morgan Cazenove.

Ian, a chartered accountant, spent 20 years working in retail banking and general insurance. From 1999-2001 he was Chief Operating Officer for the Financial Ombudsman Service, before moving to hold the same role at Markel International PLC. Since 2004, he has held a number of non-executive roles. Ian will provide advice on wholesale insurance.

Hector Sants, Chief Executive of the FSA, said: "Both individuals will bring a wealth of knowledge to the FSA. This is a further example of our commitment to have the right mix of people working at the FSA, combining those with regulatory experience and those with strong market backgrounds."
