Flats leading price drop

The latest figures from the Department for Local Government and Communities (DCLG) show that this contributed to the price of the average home reducing from £216,625 to £215,029.

However, the figures show that prices still grew by 0.6% in the year to June, slowing for an eighth month in a row.

The figures also show that the average price paid by first-time buyers was down 0.5% at £159,606.
