First State Investments appoints Gulczynski

The appointment is intended to strengthen the Colonial First State Global Asset Management Property Securities team and its presence in the UK.

Gulczynski was previously an equities analyst in UBS Securities’ real estate research team in Australia, where his work was concentrated on real estate investment trusts (REITs).

Gulczynski will report to John Snowden, head of property securities at Colonial First State Global Asset Management in Sydney. He will be based in London and will work closely with Stuart Martin, senior portfolio manager looking at UK and European property securities.

Snowden said Gulczynski’s appointment will boost the property securities team’s capability to offer clients a broader range of products: "We are continuing to build up our talent pool in property securities. I’m delighted to have Matthew on board to help target the growth opportunities in this sector. Matthew comes to us with first-rate experience, especially in REITs.

“His experience fits with our focus on the listed property market, which is an increasingly dynamic and important component of our business, in the face of ramped up activity around the world.”
