Expo to help mortgage advisers build contacts

New technology introduced for the first time at this year’s show will allow intermediaries to find that key business contact they don’t know, but probably should. In preparation for the show intermediaries should register their professional details online and specify the type of industry contact they are looking to meet. The system is activated through their mobile phone by sending a simple SMS text command, and unique coding searches for the best profile match. If mutually agreed, they can text directly and arrange to meet.

Research from previous expos revealed that the opportunity to network was one of the main reasons intermediaries visited the show. Further value of this technology for intermediaries is that they can continue to build industry contacts long after the event has closed.

This will be only the third time the technology has been used at a show in the UK, following trials in early October at the Innovator Champions Forum in Cambridge and the World Travel Market exhibition in November. The company behind the technology is Proxpro the world’s first location-based, premium SMS wireless business specifically designed for conferences and tradeshows.

Commenting on the technology, founder Julian Bourne said: “By harnessing Proxpro, Mortgage Business Expo is creating more opportunities for brokers to meet their peers.”

Show Director Andy White said: “5,000 visitors attended last year and many expressed a real need to network with their peers. This system is extremely simple and will put intermediaries directly in touch with people who they want to meet. More Importantly, it is a completely non-invasive way of meeting people in that you never need give away your telephone number or surname.“
