The second quarter's international mortgage research conducted by moneynetinternational shows that Spain has been knocked into second place with just over 21 per cent, but over 27 per cent of enquiries through the web site’s global mortgage service enquired about the UK.
The figures from the period February to May 2002 place France in third place with 10.45 per cent.
Nearly 65% of all the enquiries received are from UK based users, with the rest coming from the US, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Japan, Southern Europe and the Arab Emirates.
