EXCLUSIVE: Teachers BS extends to Next Intelligence

Teachers launched to the intermediary market for the first time in May this year via Mortgage Intelligence and Mortgage Next appointed representatives.

Teachers BS is a specialist mortgage provider for those in the education sector. Established in 1966, they provide award-winning service and a full range of competitive mortgage products.

Sally Laker, managing director of Mortgage Intelligence Holdings, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our directly authorised members access to Teachers Building Society.

“The launch to our appointed representatives has been very successful and we are certain that our members will find real value from this specialist provider.”

Alan Gravett, head of sales and marketing at Teachers BS, added: “The success of our launch with Mortgage Intelligence’s appointed representatives and the great working relationship we have with the team gives us great confidence that we can continue to build our business further by launching with the directly authorised members.”

Teachers BS also confirmed that its first case introduced through Mortgage Intelligence has completed.

It took 13 working days from initial enquiry to release of funds.

The case was introduced by Gary Whitehead of Town & Country, who earned the mantle of Mortgage Intelligence Top Performing Mortgage Adviser of 2010 for the southern region.

This case was also an unusual circumstance, with only one applicant in a teaching position, who was newly qualified and had been offered a one year temporary contract covering maternity leave.

Whitehead said: “It is refreshing to see a truly personal service, throughout the application process and I was particularly impressed with their level of service. Everything they said they would do, they did.”

And Laker added: “It has been fantastic to see such a speedy turn around for the first case by one of our members. We have been very impressed with the level of support and service from Teachers Building Society. We hope this case to be the first of many.”
