Rooftop will position its underwriters in the Exclusive Connections Peterborough offices.
Following the announcement that Exclusive Connections reported record business for the first half of 2006, Matthew Arena, managing director at Exclusive Connections, said the on-site underwriters would help to further improve service levels, speed of service and confirm the company’s market position.
He said: “Our aim is to give our members the best facilities available. Rooftop Mortgages has been an extremely popular lender with our members as well as their clients and introducers. Adding the on-site facility, with underwriters in our offices, means we can offer an even better service.”
Alison Beech, business development director at Rooftop Mortgages, added: “We are delighted to offer on-site underwriting services to Exclusive Connections and are confident that this move will build on our already successful relationship. Quality and speed of service is becoming even more important in the market and the provision of on-site underwriters will undoubtedly help achieve both objectives.”
Melanie Bien, associate director at Savills, said: “Anything that speeds up the mortgage approval and sales process is a positive thing and as more intermediaries use them, the speedier they get. However, most online services usually only work on more straightforward mortgage cases, and the majority of cases are a bit more complicated. The trouble with online systems is that they are very black and white, though I’m sure for straightforward cases it should work very well.”
