EXCLUSIVE: Cambridge boosts intermediary lending

The mutual has launched a new online offering for intermediaries called Cambridge Mortgage Master where brokers can register to do online agreements in principle and submit and track cases online.

It has also appointed Ben Ramsay from Northern Rock and Michelle Stevens, a former broker, as BDMs to look after broker relationships in East Anglia. Previously Cambridge operated in just the Cambridgeshire region.

Mark Smitheringale, head of sales and marketing at Cambridge, said: “We’re open for business and have more than £200 million to lend on mortgages this year. We want to build our relationships with intermediaries across the market having traditionally just dealt with brokers in the Cambridgeshire area. Our move into the East Anglia area will be entirely broker driven.”

Cambridge also announced a refresh of its branding and a new logo as part of the move.
