Electronic conveyancing set to take-off

The existing National Land Information Service (NLIS) product currently provides electronic searches from a variety of data suppliers, such as the Land Registry and local authorities.

The electronic conveyancing service will be open to everyone involved in the UK property market via the web, and aims to make conveyancing faster, more

efficient, and improve the experiences of homebuyers and sellers.

Steven Foster, chief executive of TM, said: “TM aims to make available a secure and robust infrastructure that will ease communication and collaboration between

property professionals and their clients.”

The move follows the announcement in the Queen’s speech that the Government, through the Lord Chancellor’s Department and HM Land Registry, intends to move towards electronic conveyancing.
