Do shared exclusives make a principal attractive?

Mike Fitzgerald, sales director at Brentchase Financial Services:

“While additional buying power will bring in more exclusives, brokers will be more concerned about how many lenders are on the networks’ panel and the level of compliance support it provides. Some of the other networks have equally good exclusives anyway.”

Mark Osland, director of Fidelius:

“This is a commercial decision. Networks need to make their propositions attractive but brokers need to ask; how special is special? Can these exclusives be more appealing than being a wholly independent broker?”

David Ellingworth, managing director of Effective Financial Planning:

“Brokers are realising that the days of the exclusive are coming to a natural end. The marketplace is more user-friendly and not rate driven. Clients are now beginning to look for a lender that it trusts and offers good service.”
