Derbyshire consolidates broker brands

The intermediary arm of Derbyshire BS has made changes to its service with all business from Derbyshire’s Intermediary Support Unit (ISU) migrating to Salt by the end of the year. This, Derbyshire claimed, would enable Salt to expand its underwriting and processing teams with experienced staff.

The intention is to allow advisers to have one direct route to the lender’s complete range of products. The ISU was established to open up distribution to the broker market for Derbyshire and since the development of Salt it has widened its range, particularly in the commercial and buy-to-let sectors.

Alistair Welham, head of sales and marketing at Salt, commented: “This was a logical move for the business. It simplifies our brand strategy, reduces costs and cuts out any confusion for brokers looking to access our full range. Research with introducing brokers confirmed our view that having Salt as the sole channel would simplify the process and enable us to deliver a higher level of service.”

Mike Taylor, national sales manager at Salt, added: “All the products that were available through the ISU are available at Salt.”

Mike Pendergast, IFA at Zen Financial Services, said: “It’s always good to have one site for all types of mortgages and I think this is a good move and will encourage people to use it.”
