Davisons Solicitors moves premises

The division of Davisons Solicitors which handles property conveyancing for financial intermediaries, has gone from a standing start in December 2004 to notching up in excess of 1,000 completions worth a total of over £80 million.

DSIS brings together the traditional legal services of Davisons Solicitors with intermediary expertise. Head of Operations at DSIS, Mike Mitchell says: “My background is in the mortgage broking business, and being introducer-friendly is our strength as a business. Supported by Davison’s Solicitors legal expertise, we are structured to offer a faster more efficient conveyancing service through all types of financial intermediary. Being service driven we frequently complete transactions within 5 working days from receipt of the mortgage offer. In addition to this, we are happy to pay an introducer referral fee in accordance with The Law Society Referral Code.”

To negotiate the purchase of Sycamore House, DSIS used its own intermediary, All Purpose Finance Centre Ltd (APFC) to broker the £1m long lease. Mike Mitchell continues: “We know the value and enabling power of working with intermediaries so that is why we called upon APFC. For a long term investment on this prime site, we got a very competitive financial package”

The spacious new 5,000 sq ft location is also ripe for the company’s plans for expansion. “Although we deal with intermediaries up and down the country and could base ourselves anywhere, this site puts us within striking distance of key brokers, IFAs and estate agents clustered in the City. The new address will also help to attract new staff, as we continue to grow. Since we set up last year we have added a new team member each month. Our plan is to double the size of our operation by the end of 2005 to enable us to continue delivering excellent service to our increasing number of clients.”
