Countrywide make board changes

Lighting has spent her career in broadcast media, including chief executive officer of Channel 5 Broadcasting for five years until 2008. She was formerly non-executive director of Paddy Power and is currently non-executive director and senior independent director of Trinity Mirror.

As well as taking on the role of non-exec Richard Adam will be chairman of Countrywide’ audit and risk committee.

Adam has been group finance director of Carillion since April 2007 and before then he was group finance director of Associated British Ports Holdings. He is non-executive director of Wincanton and was previously non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of SSL International as well as Zattikka. He is a qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG Audit plc in 1982.

Sandra Turner has decided to step down as non-executive director with immediate effect.

David Watson, interim chairman, Countrywide, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Jane and Richard to the Board of Countrywide.

“Jane brings considerable experience with her, particularly in the commercial area and Richard brings significant technical expertise through his career in finance.

“I look forward to working with them and believe their experience will complement the skills of our current Board.
