CML forms relationship with Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity will receive the proceeds of the CML Christmas dinner, which last year raised £20,000.

Ian Walkden, national director of Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, said: “Habitat for Humanity is a hand-up, not a handout and we are very pleased to be working with the CML to promote home ownership.”

CML spokesman Bernard Clarke, said: “We are delighted to be able to team up with Habitat for Humanity as a charity partner for our annual dinner again in December. Over the last three decades, the charity has built more than 150,000 houses in more than 92 countries."

Sally Laker, managing director of Mortgage Intelligence, welcomed the move. She said: “It is a great idea that the industry supports a charity whichencourages home ownership. I think this a chance to give something back.”
