CML figures show Mortgage Express as biggest buy-to-let lender

CML figures for 2003 reveal that Mortgage Express is the largest lender in terms of overall balances outstanding, excluding acquired buy-to-let loans.

Mortgage Express was also named as the top lender for gross advances in 2003, ahead of competitors BM Solutions, The Mortgage Business and GMAC.

In 2003, Mortgage Express captured a total of 22% of the year’s gross buy-to-let advances, which was worth £19.3billion.

The lender also consolidated its position with a number of award wins, including the Your Mortgage Best Buy-to-Let for the sixth year running and Mortgage Strategy Best Buy-to-Let for the second year running.

Mortgage Express’ buy-to-let products are available for individuals and limited companies, for finance of up to £2million. Linked to the Bank Base Rate for greater transparency, the products are available for home purchases, remortgaging and for first time buyers.

Already in 2004, Mortgage Express has won the Charcol Buy-to-Let Lender of the Year and the Mortgage Edge Best Buy-to-Let Lender.

Roger Hillier, product development manager at Mortgage Express, says: ‘‘We are committed to maintaining our market-leading position by offering great products, with a high standard of customer service’’.

‘‘2003 was a big year for buy-to-let and the evidence points towards another successful year. We look forward to working with brokers again in 2004 to make the most of the opportunities that this market has to offer’’ Hillier concludes.
