Chelsea top property Premiership

Around Stamford Bridge in Chelsea average house prices are £1.38m, far higher than the price of homes surrounding Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, which are the second most expensive at £575,676.

Unlike their footballing counterparts Tottenham Hotspur made eMoov’s top four with typical prices of £312,410, while in fourth place are Olympic Stadium-bound West Ham.

At the other end of the spectrum the cheapest homes can be found around Liverpool’s Anfield and Everton’s Goodison Park at just £72,873.

Big-spending Manchester United sit in mid-table mediocrity with average prices of £194,297, while six places below them are City, where properties are £80,000 cheaper at £110,666.

Russell Quirk, founded and chief executive of eMoov, said: “Although the top two make for familiar reading, it’s interesting that a successful, wealthy Premier League club doesn’t necessarily translate to a thriving property market in the surrounding areas.

“I think in terms of property, West Ham and Tottenham are the ones to watch. The developments in terms of location and transport infrastructure should see prices in both areas boosted as a result.”

eMoov’s study found that despite being the clear leader Chelsea’s prices have fallen by 5% year-on-year as the Prime London market stagnated, while they increased by a significant 7% around West Ham’s Upton Park.
