Chelsea extends relationship with L&G

This extends its existing general insurance relationship with Legal & General to include, for the first time, the sale of Legal & General’s life assurance products.

‘On-line Protection’ promises to provide Chelsea customers an enhanced customer experience as the adviser can tailor a customer’s protection requirements more accurately by choosing from a wide range of products including Accident, Sickness and Employment cover.

Previously, the adviser and customer were subjected to multiple forms. Instead, customers and their adviser will use a single form to access their chosen products from Legal & General’s value for money range. Both Legal & General and Chelsea believe that in an age where customers demand greater and quicker service this makes a real difference.

The development is strategically important as it provides Chelsea with a more efficient method of delivering more of its products and services while enhancing the customer experience. And from Legal & General’s point of view it is an integrated model which is being rolled out across the company’s multi-channel distribution network.

Chelsea Building Society’s Matthew Cape said, “We are constantly striving to provide our members with a better customer experience and ensure that they are able to protect against future events. The use of state of the art technology in the shape of on-line protection, to provide Legal & General’s excellent products, is a driver behind this strategy as it will enable us to efficiently meet our members’ needs. We will continue to evolve the proposition to include more of the products available as a result of the partnership between Legal & General and Chelsea Building Society”.

Kate Avery, from Legal & General said, “Chelsea has recognised that good customer service and the provision of good value products need not come at the expense of efficiency. Indeed, the Society appreciates the value of adopting the latest technology to enhance the customer experience and provide a more efficient way of doing business. We are delighted they have chosen Legal & General.

“Legal & General has already made On-line Protection available to 45,000 registered industry users and we will continue to sign up new ones to gain new business. It is the roll-out of such cutting edge technology platforms and our value for money products which offer our business partners an ability to expand their protection business and makes the L&G offering so appealing to them and their customers."
