Central Trust CEO steps down

In an email to brokers Central Trust said that Owen was stepping down following recent discussions about the firms strategy.

Owen has extensive experience in financial services and retail banking and has previously had stints with Lloyds, Kensington and London Mortgage Company.

Andrew Turner, chairman of parent firm CT Capital, said: “I should like to thank Robert for his valuable contribution to the business of Central Trust and to wish him well for the future.”

Jon Painter, chief executive of CT Capital PLC, will take on the role of interim chief executive with immediate effect.

In addition the lender has also announced that Debbie Burton will be taking responsibility for the lending department following commercial director Buster Tolfree’s decision to leave earlier this month.

Burton has been with CT Capital since 1998 and previously spent 14 years as managing director of Central Trust.
