Capstone rebranded to Acenden

Following the demise of Lehman in autumn 2008, the third party mortgage servicer set up as a separate company after management persuaded administrators to keep the business going.

Acenden, which currently services ex-Lehman owned mortgage books from SPML and Preferred Mortgages, is now accepting business from across the mortgage market.

The firm recently made several senior appointments including Christopher Miller as chief operating officer and David Aylmer, formerly Trigold Crystal, as IT director.

Paul Davies joined from HML as head of business development and Robbie Sargent joined from Fitch as head of relationship management.

Ratings agency Standard & Poor’s has also affirmed Acenden’s rankings as above average for both special servicing and UK nonconforming residential mortgage servicing.

Martin Frazer, commercial director of Acenden, said: “Completing our relaunch as Acenden has been an exciting process. It marks our full emergence as a standalone and highly ranked servicer and reinforces our position as the most experienced new entrant the market has seen.

“Our capability has been enhanced by a number of significant upgrades to our systems and infrastructure. In the last year, we have set up a new office in Dublin, implemented a new servicing system, boarded a significant number of loans from two other UK third party administrators and migrated our back up data centres and telephony servers.”
