Brits love a deal it seems with research showing that many would consider buying a murder scene - should the price be marked down at least.
Would-be buyers would rather pick up a house that was the scene of a murder than one with a spot of damp, well that's according to property buyer Good Move at least.
Its research found that nearly three in five (58%) would be put off if there had previously been a murder at a property - worryingly however the rest were fine with it.
It also found that more than two in five (44%) would reject a house if there had been reports of paranormal activity.
However should the house have a shared garden a whopping 73% would turn their nose up at a property. A spot of damp and that goes up to 75% whilst cracks stands at 73%.
A short leasehold remaining (76%) also features high on the list of reasons to scarper after a viewing.
The biggest red flag for those looking to buy however is noisy neighbours, with a huge 85% of people saying this would put them off purchasing a property.
Ross Counsell, director at Good Move, said: “Although everyone has a different idea of the perfect home, it’s clear from our survey that certain things will put off most people.
“On the bright side, some of these put-offs are easy to address, so if you are looking to sell your house, make sure you sort out small things like cracks and damp.
“These little actions can make a huge difference and help you to make your house more attractive to buyers.”
However it appears that it is not a love for the macabre that is steering those who would buy a murder scene to consider it.
The research revealed it is down to the case that they would expect at least a third (32%) knocked of themarket value.
