Brokers look to government for help for FTBs

Tenet Lime’s second half year survey was conducted with intermediary business owners over May and June and involved over 25 indepth telephone interviews.

Of those who answered the survey 55% were DAs and 45% ARs. Around 80% of the companies interviewed have 3 employees or less. Less than 10% of respondents are current members of the Tenet Network.

Regulatory pressures too have taken a back seat in terms of costs to broker businesses but have been replaced with the price of petrol, other taxes and PI costs.

Commenting Gemma Harle said: “This is our second survey of brokers and the raising of concerns such as first-time buyers illustrates brokers have moved beyond merely surviving and are looking at the bigger picture and what needs to be done at a strategic level. The research shows there is undoubtedly more confidence in the future.”

The next Tenet Lime Mortgage Broker Business Survey will take place in November 2011.
