Broker singled out in national awards

Described by Chancellor Gordon Brown as "The premier showcase of enterprise in the UK", the annual Growing Business Awards are a celebration of entrepreneurial talent among the UK's SME’s: anyone employing up to 500 people, some 10,000 UK firms, could enter. Intending to celebrate the achievements of innovative and wealth-creating businesses the awards are operated annually by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

The only Mortgage firm reaching the final line up for the “Young Company of the Year” award is national broker franchise, mortgageforce, which innovated franchise delivery of mortgages in the UK since its launch in 2000 and already has 130 mortgage advisers uk-wide.

In getting to the final 5 firms, from several hundred entrants, the judges were looking for:

- Delivered on – and exceeded –original business plan.

- Hard, tangible evidence of commercial success.

- A clear and compelling vision of the company’s future development.

mortgageforce is shortlisted to the final 5 and the award winners will be announced at a lavish London ceremony in the presence of 700 guests, with William Hague as the evening's compere. Other attendees include Digby Jones, Sir Terence Conran, Charles Dunstone (founder of The Carphone Warehouse), John Caudwell (the mobile billionaire), Brent Hoberman (founder of Lastminute.com) and Easygroup’s Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

Commenting on being the only financial services firm to have reached the final, Managing Director, Robert Clifford said “For mortgageforce to have been shortlisted as one of the most successful young companies in the Country is fantastic. I’m thoroughly looking forward to the evening and of course, hopeful of walking away with the top award!”
