Britannia selects Wincor Nixdorf for ATMs

Wincor Nixdorf has implemented new ProCash ATM systems to replace Britannia's existing equipment throughout 44 UK branches.

The introduction of the new Wincor Nixdorf Pentium PC-based systems provides Britannia's two million members with a range of new features to enhance their self-service experience including ease of use, an ergonomic design, faster processing, colour screens, and a high level of security through enhanced encryption processes.

Under the project, Wincor Nixdorf supplied Britannia with its powerful ProCash 2050 systems, as well as building new ATM software based on ProClassic, and managing all installations to replace the existing network. The ProCash 2050 is a compact through the wall cash dispenser ideal for outdoor and indoor installations. It offers advanced technology for higher reliability, a new design for severe outdoor conditions, and best-in-class ergonomics for simple and intuitive use by disabled customers.

Tim Franklin, acting managing director, Membership Business at Britannia Building Society said: "Britannia is all about being easy to do business with. Britannia is 'The Modern Mutual' and to support this vision, we chose Wincor Nixdorf for its quality product at an advantageous price. The Wincor Nixdorf ProCash machines enhance the retail space and support the Britannia brand image, and the roll-out project has been very professionally executed."
