Bid and win in Growler's charity auction

Julian Wells, head of marketing at Mortgages plc, but better known as MI1s very own sports columnist Growler, is offering readers the chance to bid for some fantastic golfing equipment and contribute to a cancer charity. Growler is taking part in a 10km run called The Acorn Run at the end of the month

and is trying to raise at least £1,000.

To that end, Growler is auctioning off some of the golf gear he has obtained in 2005. The top items are a couple of brand new White Hot 2-ball putters which come with six Platform-branded Callaway golf balls (thanks Platform).

All you have to e-mail in an individual bid - the top two bids will pick up the putters. The third highest bid will take home a Footjoy leather holdall bag - free of charge.

Of course only the top two bidders will be expected to pay up but everyone who enters a bid will be placed into the hat for the chance to win 12 Srixon golf balls.

Every penny raised will go to the charity and Julian will personally pay the shipping costs to get the items to the highest bidders.
