Barnetts new office offers staff clean bill of health

National architects Bradshaw, Rowse & Harker incorporated the latest construction and interior design features in the new headquarters based in Kew, Southport, aimed at creating a comfortable and productive working environment. The most impressive of the features is a 4000 sqft glass frontage using Planar glazing which significantly reduces sun glare.

Joe Whelan, chief executive of Barnetts Solicitors, commented on the health features. He said:

“As an employer, Barnetts has a moral and legal responsibility to prevent work-related ill health. From statistics released by the Health and Safety Executive, approximately up to 30% of office workers suffer from SBS. If we can create a positive working environment that minimises the causes SBS then our workforce will be happy and productive.”

The causes of SBS are unknown but a number of factors such as poorly planned air conditioning, office layouts, heating and lighting systems, badly constructed buildings and inadequate office-cleaning services are known to trigger symptoms.
