Barclays mortgage CEO Steve Weston resigns

Weston worked as general manager of broker platforms at National Australia Bank before joining Barclays as managing director of retail lending in April 2012. Two years later he got the job of chief executive of mortgages.

A Barclays spokesperson said: “Steve Weston, CEO of Mortgages has decided to leave Barclays at the end of December to return back home to Australia with his family.

“Steve has played a crucial role in shaping the mortgage business to be a leading and innovative lender, and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

A replacement has not yet been announced.
