Banks bolster lending teams with new appointments

Birmingham Bank, Chetwood Bank, GB Bank, and Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) have each announced significant appointments, reflecting a continued focus on growth and service enhancement.

Birmingham Bank has named Jackie Burchill (pictured left) as its new head of lending, a move described as a “significant step” in the bank’s growth strategy.

Burchill, who brings more than 30 years of experience in the specialist mortgage market, will oversee lending customer services, underwriting, and completions. She previously held senior roles at GE Money Home Lending and Bluestone Mortgages, where she was instrumental in developing new origination platforms and driving operational efficiencies.

“My passion is supporting lenders to grow from single-digit originations to £billion-plus established volumes,” Burchill said. “It's an exciting challenge to join a bank during its start-up phase where I can apply my years of experience into building a really impactful service proposition.”

Chetwood Bank has also appointed Natalie McNamara (pictured centre) as mortgage distribution manager.

McNamara will help develop and manage account plans, and strengthen relationships with mortgage clubs, networks, and packagers. She will also support group distribution director Roger Morris in maximising the value of the bank’s distribution channels. She joins from previous roles at Loans Warehouse and Finova.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Chetwood Bank at such an exciting time in its journey,” McNamara said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to join an up-and-coming company which is really making an impact in the industry, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping our relationships to flourish, growing revenue and increasing volume.”

Another bank, GB Bank, has strengthened its team with the appointments of Jude Miranda as senior credit partner and Alan Fitzpatrick as head of lending operations.

Miranda, with more than 30 years of lending experience, will focus on maintaining strong credit quality and supporting the growth of the property lending portfolio. Fitzpatrick, who has held senior roles at Metro Bank, Habito, and Nomo, will lead end-to-end lending operations.

“We’re investing in talent to match our growth ambition,” said GB Bank chief executive Mike Says (pictured below). “The appointment of Jude and Alan will give us even greater capacity to support complex, high-value deals with speed and confidence.”

Meanwhile, mortgage intermediary network Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has also expanded its team, appointing Sam Toms as lender relationships account manager.

Toms, who previously led MAB’s Events team for a decade, will now focus on supporting innovation, finding solutions for underserved consumers, and strengthening lender partnerships.

“This is such an exciting step for me - one that builds on the relationships I’ve developed over the years with our lender partners, and aligns with my passion for helping our advisers say ‘yes’ to more customers,” Toms said.
