Assurant launches new point of sale platform

Commenting, managing director, Nigel Payne said: “This is very much the first stage in what will be a continual evolution of our point of sale proposition for intermediaries. We’re looking to add more products to our general insurance portfolio and increase our panel of providers.

“Our goal is to ensure we give intermediaries the choice they’re looking for on behalf of their clients, backed by the speed of service and detail of management information they need to manage their own business.”

UPOS will enable intermediaries to access multiple quotes, compare the market and determine the most suitable option for their clients by keying in just one set of information. All products are underwritten at the point of sale and all documents are available online including the illustration, demands and needs statement and policy documentation. These can all be emailed to the client as required.

UPOS is an integral part of the commitment made by Assurant Intermediary to further improve service delivery to its brokers by making the system faster with greater functionality and straight-through processing. Its key features have been developed in response to broker feedback. UPOS incorporates a complete audit trail, demands and needs statement compilation and library of documentation. It also incorporates a significant amount of data enabling brokers to build bespoke management information reports. The platform provides individual development tools as well, including product literature and online testing.

Payne concluded: “The launch of UPOS marks the fulfilment of one of the strategic objectives we set for ourselves at the beginning of 2009: giving intermediaries easy access to the range of products we provide and the ability to compare the market offering efficiently. Competitiveness, compliance, and transparency are central not only to our business, but to many of the intermediaries we work with. We believe that UPOS will help us ensure that our high standards in these areas are met.”
