ARLA and NAEA release joint statement

Robert Jordan, President of ARLA and Christopher Hall, President of NAEA, said: "Over the next few years, the property industry and those organisations which represent the people who work within it, will face a number of significant challenges both within each specialist strand as well as across some of their common areas of operation.

Our organisations will need to be well placed to provide a credible contribution towards the debates that will tangibly influence the future of the industry and help us to adapt to a fast

changing legislative regime and consumer-driven marketplace.

Within this context, and following recent successes of a number of both formal and informal joint initiatives, the governing bodies of both NAEA & ARLA have tasked their respective Chief Executive Officers to work together to prepare a report, by 31st December 2005, into the potential feasibility, the options and desirability, or otherwise, of a more structured, formal integrated relationship with the aim of delivering improved and extended

services and benefits to members combined with a stronger voice with government, the media and other relevant organisations.

Early in 2006, having considered the contents of that report, the governing bodies of both NAEA and ARLA will circulate their membership with any relevant recommendations or proposals."
