AMI launches research programme

This new monthly study focuses on understanding the opinions and intentions of AMI members – who account for 70% of the industry.

Each month AMI will survey members on a range of topical issues. The first topic that Mortgage Intermediary Census will be addressing is advisers’ views of FSA regulation. Six months into the new regime, it is fair to ask: Are the benefits worth the costs? Is it improving customers’ perceptions of the industry? Will it increase the professional standing of firms?

Highlights of the research findings will be available to AMI members via the AMI web site www.a-m-i.org.uk AMI is working in conjunction with specialist research firm, NMG Research to ensure the validity and robustness of all polling.

Commenting on the new programme, Chris Cummings, Deputy Director General said; “AMI needs to hear the views of its members in order to be able to represent them effectively. There are times when we need a factual response on immediate issues and this will gives us that facility. It also means that we can monitor market developments over a period of time.”

David Burns, Director, NMG Research said; “Through IFA Census we have already tackled many important issues for IFAs including depolarisation, the Menu, provider service standards and Treating Customers Fairly. We are delighted to be working with AMI to create a powerful voice for mortgage intermediaries on the key issues impacting their businesses.”
