AMI appoints associate director

Griffiths will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of AMI, reporting directly to its director general Chris Cummings.

Griffiths joins the AMI team from Mortgage Introducer, the UK’s largest weekly intermediary trade magazine, where he was editor for three and a half years. Previously Features Editor [forMortgageIntroducer], he is familiar with prominent industry figures and the regulatory issues intermediaries need to be aware of. Prior to this, he was Project Editor at publishing firm PBI Newmedia Ltd. Griffiths has a degree in Politics from the University of Warwick.

Commenting on the appointment Chris Cummings, director general of AMI said, “Rob has in-depth knowledge of the mortgage market, the issues and the people; he beat an exceptionally strong field to secure the appointment. Members can be confident that they have a committed advocate in Rob. His appointment adds further strength and leadership to the AMI team.”

Griffiths said, “I am delighted to be joining AMI as its Associate Director. It's an exciting opportunity and one I'm certainly looking forward to. Over the last few years AMI's reputation as a trade body has grown considerably and I'm relishing the opportunity to join its enthusiastic and committed team.

"The months and years ahead will certainly provide plenty of challenges for mortgage intermediary firms, and having spent nearly four years as editor of Mortgage Introducer, I am acutely aware of intermediary concerns. AMI is not about to stand still, but will continue to represent its members' interests at all levels and it is my hope to drive forward its continued development.

"I'm looking forward to working with Chris Cummings and his team, and also getting out into the country to meet the AMI membership.”
