A&L chastised for shabby case handling

Alan Lakey, senior partner at Highclere Financial Services, said he had been asked four times across a period of a month to fax through copies of his self-employed client’s accounts and proof of his wife’s salary to named individuals. Yet, Lakey said he continued to be told they are still outstanding.

Lakey was then told that the profit and loss account would not be sufficient and audited accounts were required along with his client’s wife’s pay slips.

Lakey said: “I explained that audited accounts are not a requirement of HM Customs & Revenue and was then told to send in form SA302, the Revenue form confirming net incomes. The Revenue does not send out an SA302 unless requested so this will hold up the matter for another week.

I was told it was a ‘rule’. I asked to speak with whoever makes the ‘rules’ and they said they didn’t know.

“I won’t be placing business with A&L until it comes into the 21st century and adopts meaningful admin functionality.”

Dominic Eaves, spokesman for A&L, said: “We will look into any complaint and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
