Advantage helps send 20,000 shoebox gifts to war orphans

The Love in a Box mercy mission is supported by Chester based Advantage Mortgage Services.

This year thousands of desperate kids will receive a shoebox packed with presents and messages of love from their fellow children in the UK.

Staff from Advantage have helped collect, pack and sort the boxes at a warehouse near Chester.

Simon Maudslay, Director of Advantage said:

Advantage is an extremely successful business and growing rapidly. We felt it was time to give something back, to those who needed it most. Our own staff will be helping to pack the shoeboxes and send them on their way.

For many kids overseas, this will be the only present they receive.

As a father of three children myself, it is wonderful to see our own kids helping others.’

Last Christmas, Simon traveled to Bosnia to help distribute the boxes to the child victims of war. The boxes were given out in freezing temperatures and deep snow around Sarajevo and Srebrenica, in miserable refugee camps.

‘ It was a very moving experience to see the homeless and often fatherless children receiving their boxes full of gifts. Seven years after the war ended, the devastation remains.

The buildings and the hearts of the people are scarred.
