Advantage expands sales team

Joining the lender are: Clare Jarvis (regional sales manager), Mark Hindmarsh, Lisa O’Beirne and Hannah Newman (business development managers). All four will report to Mick Bradley, head of intermediary sales south. The appointments reflect Advantage’s strategy for growth with a strong sales team chosen for their ability to deliver superior results and build close relationships with specialist intermediaries.

Clare Jarvis has been recruited from Platform where she was business development manager. Clare brings to Advantage solid risk assessment skills, having worked for over nine years as a lending underwriting consultant with introducer GMAC Residential Funding. Other roles held by Clare in her early career include personal insurance underwriter for Sun Alliance and insurance clerk for Homeloan Management Ltd.

Mark Hindmarsh joins Advantage after six years in sales at Platform, where he became business development manager for Central London, topping the in-house sales league table for unpackaged business wins in his first year in the role. Mark has extensive experience of the needs of brokers and packagers, having led both telemarketing and face to face sales forces. He started his career at Canon UK before moving into the mortgage industry with a position at UCB Home Loans.

Lisa O’Beirne was a business partnership manager at RBS Intermediary Partners before joining Advantage. She has over thirteen years’ experience in financial services, having started her career as a customer service officer at NatWest bank. She also held positions there as personal mortgage adviser and training and competence manager responsible for a team of ten mortgage advisers. Lisa combines solid regulatory knowledge with commercial awareness to deliver outstanding sales results.

Hannah Newman’s last position was as personal account manager for mortgage broker Essential Loans where she specialised in the sub-prime and niche markets. Hannah’s previous roles within the industry saw her underwriting applications from unpackaged brokers and direct applicants at Premier Portfolio and dealing with all aspects of mortgage processing for the Bank of Ireland Home mortgages. Hannah’s experience on both sides of the fence, with lenders and brokers, means she has a unique understanding of the sales challenges faced by Advantage.

Commenting on the appointments, Advantage sales director Peter Bass said: “I am thrilled to welcome such experienced industry players to our team. Advantage is going from strength to strength and these four new appointments will ensure that we convert the tremendous interest generated by our innovative lending products into sound business results. Our new appointments will help reinforce the firm’s position as a leading force in the specialist mortgage market.”
