Former football CEO joins Magnet Capital board

Development finance lender Magnet Capital has announced the addition of Paul Faulkner (pictured) to its board as a non-executive director.

Faulkner is chief of staff and operations at RCL Partners and the Richardson family business, who have invested and supported the lender since its launch in 2018.

His previous experience includes being the chief executive officer at Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest between 2008 and 2015, a member of the Football Association Council, and main board director and CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce from 2015 to 2021.

“We are really lucky to have Paul join our board, and I have no doubt he will be a superb asset to Magnet Capital,” Paul Israel, chief finance officer at Magnet Capital, said. “He brings a great deal of experience, particularly from an operational perspective, and he will be assisting us in our next phase of growth in the business.”

Commenting on his addition to the board, Faulkner said he was delighted to have joined Magnet Capital.

“It’s a great business, which takes a personal and relationship focused approach to deliver the best service and results for clients seeking development finance,” he added. “I’m looking forward to working with the team and supporting their efforts to continue to grow and develop the business further.”
