Crystal Specialist Finance posts record Q1 performance

Mortgage distributor Crystal Specialist Finance (CSF) is on track for another high-performing year, aiming to handle over £1 billion in loan enquiries and applications for the fourth consecutive year.

In the first quarter of 2024, CSF processed a record volume of loans, marking its most active start to a year. The majority of these loans were in bridging (35%), buy-to-let (26%), and commercial sectors (24%).

Despite challenging economic conditions, the company saw a 4% increase in applications compared to the same period last year, with the numbers rising from 1,027 in 2023 to 1,074 in 2024. This reflects a significant growth from 579 applications in 2020, doubling over the last five years.

Based in Tamworth, CSF attributes its robust performance to consistent repeat business, as evidenced by the average number of deals per broker increasing to 4.45 in the first quarter of 2024, up from 2.9 in the previous year.

“This is an outstanding start to 2024 and we’re actively targeting growth at every opportunity,” said Jo Breeden (pictured), managing director of Crystal Specialist Finance. “Our continued success is testament to the excellent Crystal team and their desire to always deliver an outstanding customer outcome.

“Our desire to educate intermediaries – both mainstream and specialist – on the myriad financial solutions for literally every customer requirement has also played a hugely significant part in the numbers and will continue to remain front-and-centre of our market proposition.”

CSF operates nationally across six finance sectors: bridging, buy-to-let, commercial, development finance, second charge loans, and specialist residential.
