The New Model Business Academy has announced that it has reached the milestone of 100 financial services professionals of the future enrolled on its apprenticeship programme.

The scheme which is the not-for-profit training and development division of The SimplyBiz Group, launched last year, and has so far operated five fully subscribed cohorts.

Richard Ardron, marketing director of The SimplyBiz Group, said: “There’s never been a greater demand, or need, for professional financial advice, and there is also an increasing acknowledgement of the value advice can provide to consumers.

“The SimplyBiz Group has always been passionate about promoting advice as an attractive career path, and we are fully committed to doing all we can to ensure the long-term growth of our sector.

“Through our Financial Adviser and Paraplanner Apprenticeship Programmes, we’ve encountered the next generation of financial services workers, and are delighted to see so many hard-working, intelligent and dedicated professionals ready to provide much-needed advice in the future.

“The hundred student mark is an important milestone for us, and we’re already preparing for our next cohort in April with two more to come throughout 2019.

“Another milestone will come in October when we will be supporting 160 apprentices and will be extremely proud to see our very first group of students graduate.”

After becoming accredited as an approved training provider, NMBA launched the Financial Adviser Apprenticeship Programme, which first opened its doors in March 2018 and comprises of both on-the-job experience and classroom-based training and qualification preparation.

A Paraplanner Apprenticeship Programme also launched in December 2018, following feedback from adviser firms.
