Teeside Money moves to high street office

Teeside Money has moved into a customer-facing office on the high street.

The brokerage, which is part of the Money Group, launched in November 2017 and provides advice on residential, buy-to-let, commercial, wills and trusts, protection and general insurance.

It also has a particular speciality in equity release and later life lending.

Steve Paterson, director of Teesside Money, said: “We are growing rapidly.

“I’ve known Scott Thorpe [London Money director] for years and he said ‘we will help and guide you on providing directly authorised advice’.

“It was a case of ‘if you want to come along with us we will be happy to help.'"

The firm has seven members of staff but plans to have 10 by the summer.

Before starting Teeside Money, Paterson was an equity release consultant at Financial Experience Group, while before that he was quality and training manager for People Plus UK, where he trained money advisers.

The office was launched on 1 March by Ben Houchen, the Conservative Mayor of the Tees Valley.

Paterson added: “Mr Houchen is a born and bred local man who takes immense pride in representing the area and like me believes in helping to regenerate the local area is of paramount importance to creating prosperity and well-being for local residents.

“This was why we wanted to open a high street location so that we could be visible to the people of Teesside as well as being accessible for them at the same time.”

Houchen said: “Small firms are the lifeblood of our local economy and this is another example of entrepreneurs putting their faith in the Tees Valley as a fantastic place to do business.

“At a time when so much is done online or over the phone, it’s great to see companies are working to support our high streets by launching branches we can all walk in to.

“This firm may just be starting out, but its staff have decades of experience in the financial sector, and I’m sure their expertise will pay off. I wish Teesside Money every success.”

Other Money Group businesses are in Rotherham, Manchester, Teeside, Cardiff, London and West Yorkshire.
