Target Group is hiring 250 new employees after announcing a £112m buyout from global software company Tech Mahindra last month.

The jobs are largely based in Cardiff and Newport and will include positions in IT and software development, customer services, complaints, investments, project management, risk and compliance, business analysis and a number of corporate roles at a variety of levels of experience.

Some roles will also be created at Target Group’s Chester office.

Ian Larkin, co-group chief executive of Target Group, said: “Our growth is testament to our fantastic team and the great list of clients we have partnering with us, and we are continuing in that vein this year.

“By joining with Tech Mahindra we now have an even stronger proposition with which to pursue new opportunities in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance markets globally, which in turn will allow us to expand our presence even further in South Wales.”

The group was set up in Cardiff in 1979 and already employs over 900 people after hiring 110 towards the end of 2015.

Rhiannon Williams, HR director at Target Group, said: “We are delighted to be creating 250 new career opportunities with the majority in South Wales.

“We have a wide variety of jobs available ranging from customer services positions to financial roles. We have been incredibly impressed with the talent on offer in the local area and our aim is to always attract and further develop the best the region has to offer.”
